NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG)

NEET (UG) - 2021 for Indian Student to study MBBS/BDS : 

The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India (GOI) has established National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organization for conducting efficient, transparent and international standard test in order to access the competency of candidates for admission to premier higher education institutions.​

NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (UG) 2021 (NEET (UG) - 2021) will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses and other undergraduate medical courses in approved/recognized Medical/Dental & other Colleges/ Institutes in India.​

Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019 provides for holding of a common and uniform National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to the undergraduate medical courses in all medical institutions including those governed under any other law. Thus, the admission to MBBS course in AIIMS, New Delhi, JIPMER and all AIIMS like Institutions will be made through NEET. The eligibility criteria applicable to appear in NEET (UG) shall also be applicable to the candidates desirous to take admission to INIs like AIIMS.​

Similarly, the criteria for minimum qualifying marks to be eligible for admission to MBBS course shall also be applicable to INIs. Further, the common counseling for admission to MBBS course in these INIs shall be conducted by the DGHS as per the Time Schedule specified in the MCI’s regulations.​The NEET (UG) - 2021 will be conducted on Sunday, second week September, 2021. The responsibility of the NTA is limited to the conduct of the entrance examination, declaration of result and for providing an “All India Rank Merit List” to the Directorate General Health Service, Government of India for the conduct of counselling for 15% All India Quota Seats and for providing the result to States/other Counselling Authorities.​

​Who is eligible for NEET 2021?​

Citizens of India, Non-resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), and foreign nationals are eligible to appear for NEET 2021 exam. Aspirants who fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of NEET and complete the application process within the stipulated date will be eligible for appearing for the medical entrance test for the 2021 session. Aspirants must note that, if they want to study medicine UG then they have to appear and qualify the NEET 2021. Aspirants who wish to study medicine abroad but wish to come back to India for practice NEET are now mandatory for them also.

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as core subjects from a recognized board.

  • Class 12 or equivalent appearing aspirants are also eligible to apply for NEET.

Minimum Age Requirement for NEET 2021 Candidates must have completed 17 years as on December 31, 2021.

Maximum Age Limit* The upper age limit for NEET (UG) is 25 years as of the date of examination with a relaxation of 5 years for the candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC-NCL category and PWD Candidates.

Qualifying Marks

The class 12 percentage required for NEET 2021 exam is separate for each category and can be listed as under. NEET eligibility marks in class 12 to be considered are aggregate marks only for PCB subjects

  • UR - 50%,

  • OBC/SC/ST - 40%,

  • PWD - 45%

Maximum Attempts : There are no restrictions on the maximum NEET attempt limit 2021.

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is the single entrance test conducted at UG level for admission to medical courses. NTA NEET 2021 will be conducted in an offline mode for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, BHMS, and BVSc & AH courses. On the basis of NEET 2021, admission to 542 medical, 313 dental, 15 AIIMS, 2 JIPMER, 914 AYUSH, and 47 BVSc & AH colleges will be granted. Out of total registrations, as many as 13.66 lakh registered candidates appeared in the NEET UG exam last year. Out of appeared candidates, only 7.71 lakh candidates qualified NEET 2020 paper.

About NEET PG 2021 (Postponed)

NEET PG 2021 exam has been postponed due to the outbreak of COVID-19. The revised date for NEET PG 2021 to be decided later. National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test–Post Graduate (NEET-PG) is one of the most popular, national-level medical entrance exams. It is a computer-based mode for admission to 10, 821 MS seats, 19,953 MD seats, and 1, 979 PG Diploma seats. NEET PG scores are accepted by top colleges and universities of the country.  

NEET-PG 2021 is the eligibility-cum-ranking examination for admission to various MD/MS/PG Diploma courses of 2021 admission session.

2.2. NEET-PG 2021 will be conducted by NBE. Candidates may note that the role of NBE is limited to the conduct of NEET-PG, declaration of the result and handing over the result to the designated counseling authority. Verification of documents and eligibility determination of the candidates shall be undertaken at the time of counseling/admission process.

2.3. Candidate may kindly note that appearance in NEET-PG does not confer any automatic rights to secure a Post graduate MD/MS/ Post Graduate Diploma seat. The selection and admission to Postgraduate seats in any medical institutions recognized for running MD/ MS/Post Graduate Diploma courses as per the National Medical Commission (NMC) Act, 2019 and the repealed Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 is subject to fulfilling the admission criteria, eligibility, medical fitness and such criteria as may be prescribed by the respective universities, medical institutions, the NMC, State/Central Government.

 

2.4. Candidates are advised to read the Information Bulletin carefully and go through the instructions regarding submission of online application form given in the information bulletin as well as on NEET-PG 2021 index page on NBE website https://nbe.edu.in before starting online submission process for NEET-PG 2021.

 

2.5. Candidates are deemed to have read, agreed and accepted the Information Bulletin, eligibility criteria and the terms and conditions in the Information Bulletin for NEET-PG 2021 on completing the online submission of application form. NEET-PG 2021 9

 

2.6. A candidate can submit NEET-PG 2021 application form only once. Any candidate found to have submitted more than one application form for NEET-PG 2021 may be debarred from NEET-PG, his/her candidature may be cancelled and further action as deemed appropriate by NBE shall be taken.

 

2.7. Candidate should ensure that all the information entered during the online submission of application form is correct and factual. Information provided by the candidates in the online application form shall be treated as correct and NBE will not entertain, under any circumstances, any request for change in the information provided by the candidates. The option of editing certain information entered in the application form shall be available to the candidates during the edit window. Please refer Chapter - 8 for details regarding Edit Window.

 

2.8. NBE does not edit/modify/alter any information entered by the candidates at the time of online submission of application form under any circumstances.

 

2.9. Application for NEET-PG 2021 can only be submitted online through NBE website https://nbe.edu.in There is no other methodology for application submission. Application submitted through any other mode shall be summarily rejected.

2.10.Applications of candidates producing false or fabricated information shall not be considered and candidates may be further debarred from appearing in any future examinations conducted by NBE/MoHFW/other Institutions.

 

2.11.Candidates who fail to submit duly completed application with requisite documents and/or fail to rectify the deficiencies in the application by the last date prescribed for rectification shall be declared ineligible. Admit Card shall not be issued to candidates who are declared ineligible before the conduct of examination. In such cases, the entire fees will be forfeited. NEET-PG 2021 10

 

2.12.Applications of candidates producing false or fabricated records/ declarations will not be considered and such candidates will be further debarred from appearing in the future examinations of NBE and action as deemed appropriate by NBE will be taken.

 

2.13.Candidates are advised to ensure that no mandatory column in the online application form is left blank. In the event of rejection of the application form, no correspondence/request for re-consideration will be entertained.
